1. Lytle-Five Points Road to Close for Culvert Replacement ~ Lytle-Five Points Road will be closed by the Warren County Highway Department starting Thursday, April 7, 2011 for two (2) days. The culvert replacement will require the closure of Lytle-Five Points Road at the intersection of Lytle-Five Points Road and SR 48. The closure will last for two (2) days, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., ending on April 8, 2011, weather permitting. The detour for the closure will utilize SR 48, SR 73, and Township Line Road. For more information, contact the Warren County Engineer’s Office at (513) 695-3302.
2. A big 'Thank You' to all the students that participated in the American Heart Association, Jump Rope for Heart and/or Hoops for Heart. Five Points West contribution of $8,474.70 will significantly impact the fight against our nation's #1 and #3 killers, heart disease and stroke. Families and schools are the two most critical links in providing the foundation for physical activity and nutrition. By holding this event(s) at our school, it reinforces the important lifelong habits of eating right, exercise, and staying tobacco free. Again, thank you!
3. Fifth grade strings students are asked to have their violins at school every day the week of April 11. They will need their instruments to practice for the fifth grade musical. The children are welcome to leave the instruments in their classrooms.
4. Welcome to springtime in Ohio where you are never sure what the weather and the temperature will be like. As I am writing this it’s snowing outside! I want to remind everyone that we go out for recess as long as it is not raining and the temperature is 25 degrees and warmer—wind chill included so please help your children dress for the likelihood of an outside recess when they get ready for school each day.
5. This month only you can place your order until April 10 at midnight. Scrip orders will be mailed out on April 19 not April 12. GLS, who we order Scrip gift cards from, is closed for Spring Break until April 11.

On guard! This 35-minute medieval marvel, complete with jousting knights, delightful damsels, and court jesters, will capture the audience! It is important for each student to have very good attendance during this time. While we use the dates in between the test dates for test make up sessions, we really want to see all of our students here all day and every day during their scheduled test time. These tests, along with attendance, comprise parts of the state report card that are issued to all public schools in Ohio. Results will be mailed home in August.
Please be sure your child gets enough rest and they eat a good breakfast and lunch. The results of these tests are important, however, it is even more important for the children to know that we are all going to be proud of them if they do their best.

19. 5th Grade Parent Orientation for students entering the 6th grade (Springboro Intermediate) next school year: Dennis Parents will be held on May 3 at 7:00 PM. Five Points Parents will be held on May 4 at 7:00 PM. Parents may attend either session as the presentations are the same. Other important dates:
- SI Counselor to visit Five Points Elementary - May 13th.
- 5th grade students tour SI on May 19th.
- Students will be able to pick up their SI fall classroom schedules and locker assignments on August 18 - more details will be sent out over the summer
