What seemed to diminish shortly after the performance there was an awesome display of inspiration at tonight's
School Board meeting. Being Dr. Baker's last School Board meeting as Superintendent the
High School Strings program played him a wonderful song "
My Heart Will Go On" and presented him with a few gifts from the Strings group. Dr. Baker was pivotal in getting the Strings Program started in Springboro. We were able to see a glimpse of the younger, 8 of the 32 2nd graders involved in the Strings Program from Five Points and 6 of the High School program display their talents!
The night also highlighted the unbelievable Special Needs program from each school. Each school in the district awarded one student per school that truly excelled this year. Kathy Gilbert, Director of
Special Education, has a great staff of
teachers that work hard at teaching, encouraging, and motivating these
students to excel in their studies,
social skills, and
life skills. Some of the Principals and Teachers that introduced their students were moved to tears. It was unbelievable to see the results from a hard working staff driven to see their students succeed!!
